13th Post

Today! Sunday! today's message is by Preacher Yang. Gospel message. It was very good. Then he talked about the example he always use. If there is a chair here, when you sit on it, there will be a projection on the wall, showing all the things you've done in your life, all your thoughts and everything about you. Will you dare to sit on it? I don't. We all have secrets we do not wish to let others noe, things we're ashamed of. After that, it was bible study. Uncle Philip talked about the doctrine of the perserverance of the saint. Once we are saved, we will always be saved. This was the question that was on my mind, for I always fear that I will give in to persecution. Now, there is really no reason why a Christian should not rejoice always.

Bible Verse: Titus 1 : 5 - 16

Daily Devotion: What would you say about 1. A marriage counselor who has  been divorced three times? 2. A money manager/financial "expert" who files for bankruptcy? 3. An aerobics instructor who is at least 30 pounds overweight?
Would you view those people with honor and respect? would you consult them for advice? Not likely. We have a label for people who say one thing and do another. And just what is our term for people who do not practice what they preach? HYPOCRITE. Hypocrisy is always ugly, but nowhere is it more destructive than in the lives of people who claim to be followers of Jesus Christ! The apostle Paul told Titus, a pastor on the island of Crete, to be on the lookout for those who " claim to know God, but.... deny Him by what they do." In other words, Paul was saying, " It isn't enough for a person to just talk about God; he or she must also walk with God." Since actions speak loouder than words, our behavior must match our beliefs. other wise people will see the inconsistencies, label us hypocrites, and conclude , "If that's what a Christian is, then I won't want to have anything to do with Christianity!"
Consider sitting down with a close friend today and talk about your lives. Examine yourselves for instances of hypocrisy. It is better not to claim to be a Christian at all, than to profess belief in Christ and then behave like an unbeliever.

"They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good." Titus 1 : 16

Bible verse: 2 Timothy 3 : 16 - 17

Daily Devotion: The Swiss Army Knife has all sorts of little gadgets in it. It has scissors, screwdrivers, blades, and even a small saw! Carrying one of this knives can equip you to survive man of life's common problems. In a greater way, the word of God equips you to triumph over life 's tests and problems. The next time you're faced with one of life's problems, use the tool that God has given us.

Bible verse: 2 Timothy 2 : 1 - 26

Daily devotion:Have you ever considered how a come in the past, a few hundred first century Christians managed to saturate the entire known world with the message of Christ? Think about how amazing that accomplishment is. They had no telephones, talk shows, copiers, cable, OHP, microchips, planes, internet and no microphone. They did it without concert, billboards ro bumper stickers and without tracts or television. How is it that so few with so little could make such a huge difference back then, and so many with so much make so little difference today?
In our technological era, its easy to lose sight of the intimate nature of the gospel. We tend to think tht we are being productive as long as we have blazing fast computers and can pull of slick worship services. However, we must not forget a crucial truth: the Christian faith thrives and grows best in the context of personal relationships. What do you think was Jesus's plan of reaching the world with the Good News of God's love and forgiveness? He chose disciples and poured His life into them. The apostle paul likewise, , taught Timothy all he knew and instructed Timothy to take the message and pass it on to a reliable disciple, a man or woman obligated to share what others had taught us.

Bible Verse: 1 Timothy 5 : 13

Daily Devotion: Habits leads to other habits! They multiply! For example, lying can lead to suspicion of others, which leads to anger. Not being careful with purity in our thoughts can lead to lust and even adultery. 1 Timothy 5 : 13 warns us not to develop a habit of laziness because that bad habit breeds other bad habits, like gossip and nosiness. We should work to develop good habits in our life so that they will produce other good habits. Hardworking produces trustworthiness, which develops into honesty and so on.

"But godliness with contentment is great gain." 1 Timothy 6 : 6

2nd day of work. Ughh give out flyers today. Really tiring. Tiring not being having to move around alot. But when you see the faces of the smug people at Raffles Place, you will feel tired and sick even though you're a hyperactive. But give praise to the Lord. I remained joyful throughout as I knew the Lord is my joy and my strength. After work, went to Tao Rong with Elvin. Had dinner there and then see their play. Drank 3 cups of milo *Uber Pwnage*. lawls.

Bible Verse: 1 Timothy 3 : 1 - 16

Daily Devotion: How to be a leader in the church? The caliber of service expected from a Christian leader is similar to what is expected from an officer in the armed forces. being a Christian leader means maintaining a standard of excellence that distinguished one from an average person. The responsibilities of a Chrisitian leader is written here in 1 Timothy 3. Just as those who serve the country are rewarded with special honors, the Christian leader also recieves great rewards. Leaders are respected by others and gain greater responsibility from God.

"If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?" 1 Timothy 3 : 5

8th Post!

Make me go open one sample let them see. lol.

Bible Verse: 1 Timothy 2 : 8

Daily Devotion: What do the bible say about anger? In 1 Timothy 2 : 8, the apostle Paul talks about how anger affects us. It blocks our prayer! Paul knew that our relationships with others will affect our relationships with God. Unresolved anger, grudges and quarrels can block prayer. Paul encouraged Christians to resolve their anger or lingering quarrels before prayer. This can be difficult, but we must do it to pray appropriately. Before you pray, deal with the anger you feel against someone, or resolve a lingering quarrel.

"He wants all people to all people to be saved and to learn the truth." 1 Timothy 2 : 4

Bible Verse: 2 Thessalonians 3 : 7

Daily devotion: Have you ever considered what it takes to really excel? How to be self disciplined? Study your favorite sports hero or musician- or anyone else who has succeeded - and you'll find that in almost every case the person is self-disciplined. Those who excel know how to discipline themselves to accomplish what's important. Paul reminded us that discipline can be learned through imitation. It can be helpful to imitate the people you admire. If laziness is a problem for you, find a self-disciplined, hard worker and begin to imitate his or her ways. Soon, you;ll become more self-disciplined; then your success will motivate you to continue.

"While we were with you, we gave you the order: "Whoever doesn't want to work shouldn't be allowed to eat." 2 Thessalonians 3 : 10
