Bible Verse: Philemon 1 : 1 - 25

Daily Devotion: Yoru relationship with God can encourage others. God uses your love and faithfulness to him to help others do the same. Paul wrote to his friend Philemon and explained how encouraged Paul was by Philemon's love for God. Philemon's walk with Christ was a great source of joy for Paul. In the same way, you can encourage others by continuing to love and serve God. Read Philemon 1 : 4 - 7, and see how God can use your love for Jim in powerful ways.

"I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers,5because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints." Philemon 1 : 4 - 5

Bible Verse: Titus 3 : 1 - 15

Daily Devotion: God provided us with so much things in our life. The air we breathe, the earth we live in and even a chance for us to live. But are we showing gratitude to Him? Or are we acting like spoiled children, being ingrates to God's gratitude? Many of us live our lives like a spoiled child, asking and taking without really thinking about all that we have recieved. Read Titus 3 : 4 - 7 and think about Go'd generosity in your life. Spend some time in prayer, thanking God for the things in your life.

"But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life." Titus 3 : 4 - 7

Bible verse: Titus 2 : 1 - 15

Daily Devotion: Titus 2 talks about all types of people in a church. The older man, older woman, young men and also slaves. It teaches us how we should lead our life. After studying the things we have to do, it all boils down to one important key point. Our actions, must bring glory to the Lord and be good testimony. This is so that we can fulfill the Great Commission that our Lord Jesus Christ has instructed us to do!

"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good." Titus 2 : 11 - 14

13th Post

Today! Sunday! today's message is by Preacher Yang. Gospel message. It was very good. Then he talked about the example he always use. If there is a chair here, when you sit on it, there will be a projection on the wall, showing all the things you've done in your life, all your thoughts and everything about you. Will you dare to sit on it? I don't. We all have secrets we do not wish to let others noe, things we're ashamed of. After that, it was bible study. Uncle Philip talked about the doctrine of the perserverance of the saint. Once we are saved, we will always be saved. This was the question that was on my mind, for I always fear that I will give in to persecution. Now, there is really no reason why a Christian should not rejoice always.

Bible Verse: Titus 1 : 5 - 16

Daily Devotion: What would you say about 1. A marriage counselor who has  been divorced three times? 2. A money manager/financial "expert" who files for bankruptcy? 3. An aerobics instructor who is at least 30 pounds overweight?
Would you view those people with honor and respect? would you consult them for advice? Not likely. We have a label for people who say one thing and do another. And just what is our term for people who do not practice what they preach? HYPOCRITE. Hypocrisy is always ugly, but nowhere is it more destructive than in the lives of people who claim to be followers of Jesus Christ! The apostle Paul told Titus, a pastor on the island of Crete, to be on the lookout for those who " claim to know God, but.... deny Him by what they do." In other words, Paul was saying, " It isn't enough for a person to just talk about God; he or she must also walk with God." Since actions speak loouder than words, our behavior must match our beliefs. other wise people will see the inconsistencies, label us hypocrites, and conclude , "If that's what a Christian is, then I won't want to have anything to do with Christianity!"
Consider sitting down with a close friend today and talk about your lives. Examine yourselves for instances of hypocrisy. It is better not to claim to be a Christian at all, than to profess belief in Christ and then behave like an unbeliever.

"They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good." Titus 1 : 16

Bible verse: 2 Timothy 3 : 16 - 17

Daily Devotion: The Swiss Army Knife has all sorts of little gadgets in it. It has scissors, screwdrivers, blades, and even a small saw! Carrying one of this knives can equip you to survive man of life's common problems. In a greater way, the word of God equips you to triumph over life 's tests and problems. The next time you're faced with one of life's problems, use the tool that God has given us.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. " 2 Timothy 4 : 7

Bible verse: 2 Timothy 2 : 1 - 26

Daily devotion:Have you ever considered how a come in the past, a few hundred first century Christians managed to saturate the entire known world with the message of Christ? Think about how amazing that accomplishment is. They had no telephones, talk shows, copiers, cable, OHP, microchips, planes, internet and no microphone. They did it without concert, billboards ro bumper stickers and without tracts or television. How is it that so few with so little could make such a huge difference back then, and so many with so much make so little difference today?
In our technological era, its easy to lose sight of the intimate nature of the gospel. We tend to think tht we are being productive as long as we have blazing fast computers and can pull of slick worship services. However, we must not forget a crucial truth: the Christian faith thrives and grows best in the context of personal relationships. What do you think was Jesus's plan of reaching the world with the Good News of God's love and forgiveness? He chose disciples and poured His life into them. The apostle paul likewise, , taught Timothy all he knew and instructed Timothy to take the message and pass it on to a reliable disciple, a man or woman obligated to share what others had taught us.

Bible Verse: 1 Timothy 5 : 13

Daily Devotion: Habits leads to other habits! They multiply! For example, lying can lead to suspicion of others, which leads to anger. Not being careful with purity in our thoughts can lead to lust and even adultery. 1 Timothy 5 : 13 warns us not to develop a habit of laziness because that bad habit breeds other bad habits, like gossip and nosiness. We should work to develop good habits in our life so that they will produce other good habits. Hardworking produces trustworthiness, which develops into honesty and so on.

"But godliness with contentment is great gain." 1 Timothy 6 : 6

9th post!

2nd day of work. Ughh give out flyers today. Really tiring. Tiring not being having to move around alot. But when you see the faces of the smug people at Raffles Place, you will feel tired and sick even though you're a hyperactive. But give praise to the Lord. I remained joyful throughout as I knew the Lord is my joy and my strength. After work, went to Tao Rong with Elvin. Had dinner there and then see their play. Drank 3 cups of milo *Uber Pwnage*. lawls.

Bible Verse: 1 Timothy 3 : 1 - 16

Daily Devotion: How to be a leader in the church? The caliber of service expected from a Christian leader is similar to what is expected from an officer in the armed forces. being a Christian leader means maintaining a standard of excellence that distinguished one from an average person. The responsibilities of a Chrisitian leader is written here in 1 Timothy 3. Just as those who serve the country are rewarded with special honors, the Christian leader also recieves great rewards. Leaders are respected by others and gain greater responsibility from God.

"If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?" 1 Timothy 3 : 5

8th Post!

Today is the first day of work. Hmm. It was very very slack! The event not very crowded. So, being a door gift distributor i would be very free. Haha. People who walk around keep asking whether Elvin and I were twin brothers. Lol. Their workers oso very qiu jian one, keep wanna see what's the door gift. Make me go open one sample let them see. lol.

Bible Verse: 1 Timothy 2 : 8

Daily Devotion: What do the bible say about anger? In 1 Timothy 2 : 8, the apostle Paul talks about how anger affects us. It blocks our prayer! Paul knew that our relationships with others will affect our relationships with God. Unresolved anger, grudges and quarrels can block prayer. Paul encouraged Christians to resolve their anger or lingering quarrels before prayer. This can be difficult, but we must do it to pray appropriately. Before you pray, deal with the anger you feel against someone, or resolve a lingering quarrel.

"He wants all people to all people to be saved and to learn the truth." 1 Timothy 2 : 4

Bible Verse: 2 Thessalonians 3 : 7

Daily devotion: Have you ever considered what it takes to really excel? How to be self disciplined? Study your favorite sports hero or musician- or anyone else who has succeeded - and you'll find that in almost every case the person is self-disciplined. Those who excel know how to discipline themselves to accomplish what's important. Paul reminded us that discipline can be learned through imitation. It can be helpful to imitate the people you admire. If laziness is a problem for you, find a self-disciplined, hard worker and begin to imitate his or her ways. Soon, you;ll become more self-disciplined; then your success will motivate you to continue.

"While we were with you, we gave you the order: "Whoever doesn't want to work shouldn't be allowed to eat." 2 Thessalonians 3 : 10

6th post.

Sunday. Morning went to have BK breakfast. Then went to Elvis's uncle's church to see see. It was quite alright. Sermon was good. It was about the employer and employee ties. Hmm. We can serve God even not in His ministry. Our daily work, do it like your boss is the God. We are all redeemed with Jesus's precious blood. We are all His people. We work for him, knowing that your God is also your employer's God. There is only one God. God put us in different places for different purposes. So we should work hard no matter what work we are working as. So as to glorify God. I feel very sorry to the Lord. I wasted a year, not properly studying. Got myself retain. Put the name of the Lord to shame. I must work hard next year. It is for God that I study! :D Oh ya. After see seeing the Elvis's uncle's church, I "crossed over" to my church! xD I was the lead singer for the day. When I see that the church do not sing with joy, I felt abit disheartened. But I will not quit! I'll try to think of how I can improve to help lead the church! Brothers and sisters reading this, do pray for me. :D

Bible verse: 2 Thessalonians 1 : 8

Daily devotion: Warning: Do Not Proceed Beyond This Point! Signs, they are important for our health and safety. There are serious consequnces for people who do not observe signs. In the same way, there are serious consequences for not knowing God, for not listening to His Good News! Read about it in 2 Thessalonians 1 : 8. If you know God, then be comforted that you are heading the right direction! If you do not know Him as your Lord and Savior, then Warning : Do Not Proceed Beyond This Point! Signs are important, to people who see it and also people who don't. If you see it, do share it with your friends and relatives, lest they proceed and get themselves in danger!

" They will pay the penalty by being destroyed forever, by being seperated from the Lord's presence and from His glorious power." 2 Thessalonians 1 : 9

5th day!

Today fellowship went to the south ridge walk! Haha. It was quite fun. Really saw God's work above us. Before we went on the trek, it was soooooo scorching hot! But when we started the trek, dark clouds came out and it became windy and nice! Haha. We thought it will rain halfway, but it rained exactly at the time we reached the bus stop! Haha. Thank God.
23 November

Bible verse: 1 Thessalonians 3 : 16 - 22

Daily devotion: Paul teaches us how to live our life. In life, we have to always be joyful. He also talks about praying. Never stop praying! Sometimes God might not answer our prayers, and you might think, well God don't care, why should I pray? Look at Paul. He begged God to take away a terrible problem from this life but he didn't get a response from God. Yet, he didn't give up. He continued to pray and also taught us never to stop praying! From verse 19 to 21, we Paul is trying to tell us how we are to use our spiritual gifts.  God given gifts are not some boring gifts we leave sitting in a drawer or on a shelf, but something that can change your life and help you be a part of strengthening the church. God's gift are meant to be used. The apostle Paul compared them to a fire and warned believers not to ignore them or throw water to them. Are you tempted to minimize some gift of the Spirit?

"Don't despise what God has revealed. Instead, test evrything. Hold on to what is good." Thessalonians 3 : 20-21

4th post.

Watched City of ember with Lixue today at cathay downtown. It was quite a nice show. Haha. Towards the end, when the kids finally find the way out of the crumbling city of ember, it felt like I see God's work in comparison to man's. It was a clear comparison between the work of man and the work of God. City of ember was lighted by a generator which man designed. But the sun, designed by God never crumbles and blackout.

Bible Verse: Thessalonians 2 : 19 - 20

Daily Devotion : Different people have different talents. Some people are good at making friends, some are task-oriented, some lead. We are all parts of the body of Christ. Paul was a task-oriented person with a deep affection for the believers in Thessalonica. We have to find what our passions are. They are our gifts. Put them into good use in God's ministry!

"we exhorted each one of you and encouraged you and charged you to walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory." Thessalonians 2 : 12

Went to watch Beverly Hills Chi HuaHua with my mom today. Haha. It was quite a nice show. I liked the german shepard! :D

November 21

Bible verse: Colossians 3 : 18 -21

Daily Devotion: Obey. Ugh. Obey your parents. Double Ugh. Sometimes you feel that maybe the apostle Paul didn't have your family in mind when he mentioned that children should always obey their parents. Sometimes you feel that you are right, your parents aren't right? But note his reason: This pleases the Lord. God know how a family works best, and following your parent's rules is his design.

"Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing to the Lord." Colossians 3 : 20

Bible Verse : Colossians 1 : 13- 14

Daily Devotion : There are times in life when we feel all stuck and lost. The good news is that God is in the "search and rescue" business! When we were confused and lost and tangled in sin, He organised a search and rescue party, Jesus Christ. Our responsibilty is to accept the guidance of Christ, the one who knows the way back home, and then follow him.

" He existed before everything and holds everything together." Colossians 1 : 17

Went to tecman today with Bro Elvis. Got some books and decided to start blogging. Bought Purpose Driven Youth ministry!! Haha. Hopefully Macedonia YF will become purpose driven soon!!!

November 19
Bible Verse : Philippians 4 : 10-13

Daily Devotion: We have to learn to be contented with our lives. Being content in every situation doesn't mean that all our circumstances will always be good. Nor it mean that we ignore all the bad circumstances. Being content means that when we cant adjust our circumstances, we adjust our attitudes. What makes you feel discontent? Friends? Family? Job? Studies? Health? Something else? You will never have peace or contentment in your life until you can fully trust God, even in the worst of circumstances. That requires faith. Ask God for the faith.
" I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. " Philippians 4 : 13
